It seems that this role-play community is pretty much on it's last leg. I'm fairly sure how it happened (I'm guessing the length of inactivity due to the 'ghost' event did it in for the most part) and I do feel fairly responsible that the place has had dust blowing around in it for the past month.
I really don't want to do this, but I'm thinking I'm going to have to for now. I am putting this role-play on hiatus for an unknown period of time. I'm not closing it, per se, as I did work hard to come up with the concept, plot, and so on for it and I don't want to just toss it to the side. However, we seem to have a problem getting new people to join in -- and I think I know exactly what said problem is. The game is set in an AU world, and people confused that with the characters being AU as well, so they ran straight over to reserve their characters ... then they realized that the characters weren't AU themselves and never came back. Either that or my very, very long reserve time block made them feel no sense of urgency to get an application in and thus, they forgot. I'm not positive.
I'm really sorry to do this to everyone, since I know a few of you are at least attempting to bring things back to life a little here, and I sincerely appreciate it. All of you are outright terrific role-players, and I'm dead serious when I say that I'm not just saying that because I'm the moderator here. I mean it. I loved everyone's characterizations of both original and canon characters, and that's what really made me so reluctant to put this place on hiatus.
I especially want to apologize to the person who just applied for Asch here. I did see your application and was about to accept it the day you sent it in, but it was around that time that I realized that this place was going to need some official down-time and I didn't want to just accept you and say "oh, lol, RP's in hiatus, kthx". That would just be flat out rude. I just feel bad that you went through the process of filling out and sending in the application, just to have me do this. Again, I'm sorry for that.
I know I'll probably get some of you saying "don't apologize, it's alright!", but I guess I just feel the need to say it, whether it was my fault or not that things ground to a halt. If you want to keep your characters here in the off chance I manage to revive this place faster than I anticipate, then do so. If you think I'm just saying that it's on hiatus and that the place will never re-open again, then feel free to leave the communities. It's completely up to you and I won't be insulted or angry with you in any way, shape, or form.
Any open plots that are going on can be still seen through to the end, even with this hiatus going on. No new official plots will be enacted and no one new will be accepted, that's all. Also, none of the logs or posts will be deleted -- I just find deleting things like that to be silly and downright insulting to the players who participated in the logs and posts.
I just want to state that this role-play being put on hiatus has nothing to do with the other multi-fandom role-play I opened recently. I can very easily handle both role-plays at once, even if the other one was a lot more active than I anticipated right from the start. This one has been dying for a while, and until I find out how to fix this so that not only more people will be interested, but that the place will stay at least fairly active, it will be (as I said a bunch of times already) on hiatus.
As a final note, I want to thank both of my co-moderators, Madi and Rainie, for volunteering to help me out with this place. I really appreciated knowing that I had you two around to help me out when the need arises. I'm sorry that I pretty much did everything and made it seem as if you two just had a shiny title, though.
Thank you very much for playing here and I hope to bump into you all elsewhere in the role-playing world.
